SIGNING CEREMONY OF THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (MoU) BETWEEN PHAN CHAU TRINH UNIVERSITY (PCTU) AND MICHIGAN STATE UNIVERSITY (MSU), USA – DECEMBER 8, 2025

On December 8, 2025, Phan Chau Trinh University (PCTU) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Michigan State University (MSU), marking an important milestone in the university’s international collaboration efforts.
The agreement is the result of two years of active engagement since the first working visit of the MSU delegation to PCTU in 2023.

Key Areas of Collaboration

1. Academic Collaboration

Both universities will co-develop and enhance international-standard training programs focusing on:

  • Regenerative medicine
  • Clinical research
  • Global health
  • One Health
  • Data-driven medicine

PCTU will send medical students, faculties, and young researchers to MSU for training, observation, and participation in research projects. In return, MSU will send students and falcuties to PCTU for clinical rotations and clinical experience at Phan Chau Trinh University Hospital and Tam Tri General Hospital System.


2. Research Collaboration

PCTU and MSU plan to jointly implement research projects in:

  • Regenerative medicine: pancreatic iPSCs, cardiac organoids, and organoid-based disease models
  • Stem cell applications in the treatment of metabolic diseases, particularly diabetes

MSU will also support PCTU in standardizing and digitizing clinical data using the REDCap platform, enabling multicenter studies and advancing precision medicine.


Campus and Hospital Visit

After the signing ceremony, PCTU guided the MSU delegation to visit:

  • The Simulation Hospital
  • The Medical Museum
  • The library
  • Phan Chau TrinhUniversity Hospital

MSU representatives expressed strong appreciation for PCTU’s modern facilities and were particularly impressed by the Medical Museum, which preserves information about renowned physicians from Vietnam and around the world.

Following lunch at the PCTU canteen, the MSU delegation continued meetings with the leadership of Phan Chau Trinh University Hospital.The delegation showed great enthusiasm during the tour of hospital departments, especially Diagnostic Imaging, Pediatrics, and Obstetrics–Gynecology.

Both sides successfully discussed and agreed on a student, falcuties exchange plan for clinical placements at the hospital.
