RESEARCH COLLABORATION SIGNED WITH THE UNIVERSITY OF SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA

On February 7, 2023, at Phan Chau Trinh University, a research delegation from the University of Sydney, Australia—led by Dr. Phoebe Williams and her colleagues—visited and officially signed a research collaboration agreement with the university.

Accordingly, the two parties signed a research cooperation document focusing on neonatal sepsis and antibiotic resistance, with the involvement of hospitals within the network, including Tam Tri Da Nang General Hospital, Tam Tri Nha Trang General Hospital, and Tam Tri Dong Thap General Hospital. Prior to the signing, both sides had conducted exchange programs, initial surveys, and discussions to reach a consensus on future research collaboration activities.

On behalf of Phan Chau Trinh University, the delegation was received by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dang Quoc Chan – Academic Vice Provost, Dr. Nguyen Xuan Huong – Director of the Center for Scientific Research and International Collaboration, and Dr. Le Thi Huynh Trang – Director of the Pre-clinical Skills Center, along with faculty members of the research group. During their site visit to Phan Chau Trinh University’s research facilities and university-affiliated hospital, the delegation expressed high appreciation for the university’s training and research foundations, recognizing it as a strong basis for long-term cooperation between the two sides.

Dr. Phoebe Williams added: “Our research project has been implemented in several countries including Sri Lanka, the Philippines, Indonesia, Tonga, Kenya, Vanuatu, and Vietnam. We are very pleased to now have Phan Chau Trinh University and the Tam Tri General Hospital system on board. This is the first private hospital system to join our research group and will contribute highly diverse and valuable research outcomes to the team.”
