PHAN CHAU TRINH UNIVERSITY WELCOMES THE SPANISH HONORARY CONSULATE DELEGATION IN DA NANG
Delegation Visits, Inward Visits, PCTU Partners

On 8 July, Phan Chau Trinh University (PCTU) had the pleasure of welcoming a delegation from the Spanish Honorary Consulate in Da Nang for an official visit and discussion on future collaboration.

The delegation included:

  • Mr. José Sánchez-Barroso González – Honorary Vice Consul of Spain in Da Nang.
  • Ms. Đỗ Thùy Như – Head of the Office of the Honorary Vice Consulate of Spain in Da Nang.

During the meeting, PCTU introduced its unique University- Hospital model, which integrates medical education, scientific research, and patient care within a comprehensive healthcare ecosystem. The University also shared its strategic vision for future development and discussed opportunities for collaboration with Spanish universities and hospitals in medical education, research, academic exchange, and professional development.

Mr. José Sánchez-Barroso González shared that he had learned about Phan Chau Trinh University prior to his visit and expressed his admiration for the University’s educational philosophy and long-term vision. He noted that while innovation and technology are essential in modern healthcare, what distinguishes PCTU is its unwavering commitment to placing people, compassion, and medical ethics at the heart of medical education.

The representatives of the Spanish Honorary Consulate also highlighted the strong alignment between PCTU’s educational philosophy and the values embraced by many Spanish medical institutions. Spain has long been recognized for its excellence in healthcare, world-class medical education, and significant contributions to medical science, including Nobel Prize-winning achievements in medicine. Its healthcare system is internationally respected for ensuring that high-quality medical care is accessible to all citizens, reflecting the principle that healthcare is a fundamental right rather than a privilege. These values resonate closely with PCTU’s mission of training competent, ethical healthcare professionals dedicated to serving the community.

Both sides agreed to continue strengthening connections with universities, teaching hospitals, and research institutions in Spain to explore meaningful partnerships in education, research, faculty and physician exchange, clinical training, and capacity building. The Spanish Honorary Consulate also expressed its willingness to introduce Phan Chau Trinh University to suitable academic and healthcare partners in Spain, laying a solid foundation for sustainable long-term collaboration.

The visit marks another important milestone in PCTU’s ongoing internationalization efforts and reflects the University’s commitment to expanding global partnerships that enhance educational quality, advance medical research, and improve healthcare services. Through these collaborations, PCTU aims to provide greater learning opportunities for students, foster professional development for healthcare practitioners, and contribute to better health outcomes for the wider community.
