CONNECTING CULTURES – CONNECTING INTERNATIONAL AND VIETNAMESE STUDENTS IN DA NANG AND HOI AN
CONNECT WITH NATURE & STUDENTS
As part of the international student experience at Phan Chau Trinh University (PCTU), extracurricular activities are designed to strengthen connections beyond the clinical setting.
A highlight is the outdoor program “Connecting with Nature – Connecting Students” at Cude Camping (Da Nang). Stepping away from busy clinical schedules, international and Vietnamese students immersed themselves in nature, joined team-building activities, and built meaningful peer connections across cultures.

The day concluded with a BBQ dinner and campfire, where students shared experiences through music, conversations, and laughter – creating a warm, inclusive atmosphere and lasting friendships.

CONNECT WITH CULTURE & LOCAL PEOPLE
Beyond clinical placements, PCTU offers cultural experiences that deepen students’ understanding of Vietnam’s people and heritage.
Students engage in cultural exchange with Vietnamese peers, explore local cuisine, and experience daily life in Da Nang and Hoi An. These shared activities foster cross-cultural understanding and authentic connections with the local community.
A key highlight is the visit to Thanh Ha Pottery Village and Hoi An Ancient Town. Students learned about the village’s 500-year history, observed artisans, and created their own pottery. In Hoi An, they explored traditional architecture, enjoyed local specialties such as Cao Lau and chicken rice, and experienced a lantern boat ride along the Hoai River—an unforgettable cultural moment.
A CONNECTED & HOLISTIC EXPERIENCE
The PCTU Student Elective Program integrates clinical training with cultural immersion. By connecting with nature, peers, and local communities, students gain not only professional knowledge but also global perspectives, cultural appreciation, and meaningful personal growth.
