APRIL & MAY – PEAK MONTHS FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENT PLACEMENTS WITHIN THE UNIVERSITY- HOSPITAL SYSTEM
Academic Collaboration, Inbound Students

April and May marked the peak period for international elective placements across the University–Hospital system in 2026, with 31 students welcomed from leading healthcare nations including the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand.

A significant number of participants came from prestigious UK institutions such as Brighton & Sussex Medical School, University College London (UCL), and Imperial College London — globally recognized for excellence in medical education and clinical training. The strong participation highlights the growing international reputation of the elective placement program and the quality of Vietnam’s clinical learning and cultural exchange experiences.

APRIL 2026 – WELCOMING 13 INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
The program began with a professionally organized orientation session, providing students with essential information about the placement structure, hospital environment, academic expectations, and Vietnamese culture.

Throughout their 4 -6 week placements, students had the opportunity to gain hands-on exposure to clinical environments within hospitals belonging to the University- Hospital system, while also engaging in academic exchange with Vietnamese doctors, lecturers, and students.

MAY 2026 – WELCOMING 18 INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
Following the success of the April intake, the May program welcomed 18 additional international students in a vibrant and multicultural learning environment. The orientation session once again served as an important introduction to the program, clinical placement process, and cultural experiences in Vietnam.

In addition to academic and clinical activities, the program also organized extracurricular experiences, allowing students to explore the natural beauty and local culture of Central Vietnam.

EXTRACURRICULAR EXPERIENCE AT CU LAO CHAM ISLAND
One of the highlights of the program was the excursion to Cu Lao Cham Island, a well-known destination famous for its pristine beaches and rich marine ecosystem.

During the trip, international students had the opportunity to:
• Explore the island’s beautiful natural beaches
• Experience snorkeling and discover coral reefs and marine life
• Enjoy fresh local seafood
• Build friendships and cultural connections while traveling together by speedboat between the mainland and the island

These experiences not only provided memorable cultural and recreational opportunities, but also contributed to creating a dynamic international learning environment that balances academic training with meaningful real-world experiences.

With a strong commitment to internationalization, the student elective program within the University-Hospital system continues to serve as an academic and cultural bridge between international medical students and Vietnam, fostering a professional, globally connected, and experience-rich learning environment.
